Jeep has always been known for its strong and stylish SUVs. The Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer especially hold a special place in the U.S. market. But now, the company has announced a major recall due to a fault. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), about 163,735 vehicles are being recalled because the driver and passenger door trims may loosen or detach.
Which Models Are Affected?
This recall applies to 2022 through 2025 models of the Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The recalled vehicles include:
- 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
- 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
- 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
- 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
- 2022 Jeep Wagoneer
- 2023 Jeep Wagoneer
- 2024 Jeep Wagoneer
- 2025 Jeep Wagoneer
What’s the Issue?
The main reason behind this recall is the trim fitted on the driver and passenger doors. Reports suggest that in some vehicles, the trim may not have been installed correctly, which increases the risk of it detaching while driving. If that happens, it could become a road hazard for other drivers.
Company’s Response
Stellantis, Jeep’s parent company, has stated that dealers will inspect all affected vehicles and replace the trims free of cost if needed. The company also clarified that this is not a parts defect but rather an assembly line error. Fortunately, no accidents or injuries linked to this issue have been reported so far.
