When it comes to electric cars, the biggest demand today is affordability for everyday buyers. Volkswagen has taken this need seriously and introduced the ID. Cross concept, which is expected to become one of its most important models in the coming years.

Design and Style

The ID. Cross comes with a friendlier and simpler design compared to earlier models. Narrow headlights in the front and a slightly curved light bar give it a unique and approachable look. The 21-inch alloy wheels and the “Urban Jungle Green” color make its crossover styling stand out even more.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the car offers seating for five with plenty of space. There’s a 450-liter boot and an additional 25 liters of storage in the frunk, making it practical for daily use. The dashboard features a 13-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch driver display. Traditional buttons have also been added, which makes operation easier compared to screen-only setups.

Engine and Performance

The ID. Cross is equipped with a front-wheel-drive motor producing around 208 horsepower. The top speed is rated at 175 km/h (108 mph), and it delivers a range of 420 km (260 miles) based on the WLTP cycle. It can also tow up to 75 kg (165 lbs), enough for carrying two e-bikes.

Expected Price and Launch

Volkswagen has initially introduced the concept for the European market, with the production version expected to launch in 2026. The price is expected to be around €25,000, making it significantly cheaper than larger EVs like the ID.4. This positions it as an attractive choice for customers seeking an affordable electric SUV.
